CASSIDY

Adopted May 1, 2026

A small Chihuahua mix was thrown over a high fence and abandoned. This may sound very cruel and inhumane, but the story gets worse: the poor little dog is missing a paw and could have been further injured by the fall. The AALOC team found him terrified, cowering in fear. He was cold and scared and didn’t trust anyone. In addition, it was reported an individual saw Cassidy living on the streets with a homeless person before being abandoned. We don’t know the extent of Cassidy’s past, but we do know this life must have been very difficult for a small dog like Cassidy.

Over time, members of the AALOC staff have been able to convince Cassidy humans can be trusted and Cassidy has become loving and affectionate with these specific individuals, but it will take a special, very patient person to win Cassidy’s love and trust as his new owner. This seemed like an impossible search but Jaclyn, one of the AALOC volunteers, spent the time and effort to convince Cassidy he could be loved again and took him home. Cassidy is now a pampered and cherished pet and we are so grateful Jaclyn stepped up to love Cassidy and is part of our AALOC team!

NALAH

Adopted April 29, 2026

On the night of July 12, AALOC received an urgent call through our Pet Aid line—a one-year-old French Bulldog named Nalah was in labor with three puppies and desperately needed help. Her original owner had planned to surrender her to a shelter, but a kindhearted neighbor stepped in to give Nalah a chance. Just six days later, Nalah went into labor—but complications quickly arose.

With no car and no means to afford emergency care, the new owner called multiple animal organizations, pleading for help. AALOC was the only one to answer. With the medical care she needed, Nalah birthed two healthy puppies. Both Noah and Nicky were adopted quickly but Nalah remained in foster care for months, unadopted. That is until the foster and her dog Scarlet fell completely in love with Nalah and adoped her. Thank you Kathy and Scarlet for giving Nalah the forever home she needed!

LEON

Adopted April 9, 2026

Leon was living on the streets but life had taken a horrific turn and Leon needed medical help ASAP. A compassionate soul took the time to pick Leon on and bring him to AALOC where he could receive the medical help along with the shelter, food and loving care he needed.

Leon is a gray and white ball of fluff with white paws, a pink nose and gray-green colored eyes. Leon loves to play! He is always on the prowl to instigate a good rumble with the other cats, calling them out to play with him. He enjoys his humans just as much and we believe it was his outgoing personality that won him his new home with Riley and Smith. Thank you Riley and Smith for adopting Leon! We wish you all happy and healthy lives together!
